RELIEF+ FOR TEXAS AND FLORIDA

A concert to bind together the Northern Door Community while raising support dollars for the communities and peoples affected by Hurricane's Harvey and Irma.

*CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT*

Door County is unique destination filled with amazing sights and strong people.  Together we all blend to create a resilient and hard-working community providing get-aways for our many visitors and helping hands to those met by troubled life experiences in and outside our Door.

In light of the most recent flooding and devastation brought forth by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, and Hurricane Irma in Florida, it is time as a people to once again unite together and help our neighbors to the far south.  With the many musicians in our area, it seems fitting to get them all together to provide entertainment and raise funds for the horrific storm’s victims.  At this time I am still in the beginning stages of organizing this event and am putting the feelers out to see who may be interested in helping.  There are a few businesses who have already pledged their support, and I hope more to follow.  Currently, we are looking to support the Coastal Bend Food Bank in South Central Texas and the Star of the Sea Foundation Food Pantry in Key West, Florida.  While many other efforts are also taking place for immediate relief, donating to a food bank can help contribute to the long-term resiliency of the people affected by catastrophic events.

The Village of Sister Bay is allowing this benefit concert to utilize the pavilion at the Waterfront Park on Sunday, 22 October 2017 in the afternoon.  The forecast is showing similar weather to that of Fall Festival weekend with temperatures near 60 degrees and a slight chance of rain.  Ideally, this event would become a reason for our community to join together over some food and beverages from local businesses while enjoying a few hours of music after a busy tourism season.  The event would love for this afternoon affair to include your business and a few of your menu items available for purchase by attendees with a portion of the proceeds going towards the cause.  We are also looking for a few event sponsors to cover any overhead costs associated with this event.  If you are interested in becoming a part of this event and would like more information about the specifics, please reach out using the contact information at the bottom of this page.  Collectively our community may band together and send a significant contribution of support and make a difference.
